About an hour north of Melbourne at Monegeetta, in the Macedon Ranges on Wurundjeri country, this off-grid cabin sits under 360 degrees of open sky and long grass, close to the city yet convincingly out of it. Dogs are welcome for a small fee and families can come along; there's heating inside and only patchy reception. A 250-metre walk uphill leads in. From November to May campfires are off-limits for fire safety. Two nights minimum on weekends, and the exact location is revealed only once you book.
