The Story
On the Illawarra Escarpment above Stanwell Tops, this retreat occupies a site with a strange past — 1930s mineral pool, former meditation centre, squatters scattering ashes among the ferns. Andrew and his partner bought it on Valentine's Day 2000, fought off death threats and court hearings, and built something from the ruins. The stonewalls date to the Depression. The ocean views are unobstructed.
