Montague Island Assistant Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage

One of two keeper's cottages beside the granite light completed in 1881, on an offshore nature reserve nine kilometres out from Narooma. The Assistant Keeper's cottage takes six across three bedrooms; there is no road and no private boat — you arrive on an NPWS vessel, transfer and island tour included. Australian fur seals haul out below; the reserve protects more than ninety seabird species. It closes through August.
