The Story
Rob and Lyn French are the seventh generation of the Martell family to run Gilberton Station, 88,000 acres of Gulf Savannah cattle country first settled in 1869. Guests stay in what the family describes as five-star accommodation while joining the working station routine. The goldfields that drew 3,000 people to this country in the 1870s are still visible on the property.
