Elysian Retreat

A ten-villa retreat on a three-hectare cove at the southern tip of Long Island, reached only by boat or helicopter. Elysian was the first solar-powered resort in the Whitsundays and runs largely off-grid, with its own water and waste systems and a kitchen garden feeding a daily-changing all-inclusive menu. Twenty adult guests at most, a single licensed restaurant, and the Jala day spa. Ecotourism Australia has certified it at Advanced Ecotourism level.
