Karl Plunkett built this solar-powered retreat on the Kimberley coast in 1996, lost it to Cyclone Rosita, then rebuilt it completely by 2009 — engineered tents and villas replacing the original canvas structures. Boardwalks protect native plant life; hybrid solar cuts grid reliance. The Yawuru heritage of the land shapes operations. Remote, considered, genuinely hard to replicate.
