Cicada Lodge

Cicada Lodge is owned and operated by the Jawoyn people, who hold title to Nitmiluk National Park — handed back to them in 1989. Eighteen rooms with private balconies over native bushland, original artwork by Jawoyn artists in each room, a single restaurant on site. The lodge sits inside the park itself, walking distance from the gorge boat departure point; helicopter flights, the Jatbula Trail trailhead, and the rock-art cruises operate from the same complex. All proceeds flow back through the Jawoyn Association into community education, employment, and land management. The fact that staying here directly supports Jawoyn economic independence is not a marketing line — it's the structural fact about the operation.
