Bothwell Hotel of the Highlands

Licensed in 1836 as MacDonald's Brewery, and since then racing stables, a pub, a tavern, a morgue and an inn. Greg and Frannie Ramsay of Ratho Farm began restoring it in 1994 and now run seven ensuite rooms with a shared lounge and communal kitchen, opened mostly at weekends when Ratho fills up. An antiques dealer trades out of the ground floor. In the eighties it ran murder-mystery weekends with clues broadcast on ABC Radio.
