Borrodell Vineyard
Borry Gartrell bought this 135-acre Orange property in 1964 and spent decades hauling topsoil back uphill before planting vines, heritage fruit trees — 180 apple varieties, 230 plums, some traceable to Shakespeare's era — and, from 2003, truffle oaks now among the oldest on the Australian mainland. The Sisters Rock restaurant and underground cellar came later. Gaye Gartrell continues it.

A converted barn on a Hartley Vale property west of Lithgow, with 360-degree valley views to cliffs on the western edge of the Blue Mountains. Restored by the owner with master craftsman Rene Jol from a dirt-floored rickety loft. Sleeps a couple or small group; outdoor bath, hammock, fire pit, full kitchen, open fire inside. The 2019 Gosper Mountain bushfires took the property's kitchen garden — Rene Jol then built a small Garden Studio on the same footprint, which now hosts elopements and microweddings as a separate product. Comet Inn from 1879 nearby. Lithgow station 25 minutes by car.
